Wilkins Lake is located between downtown Winchester and Interstate 81. The site offers a wide variety of activities such as bird watching, fishing, walking, and picnicking.
Wilkins Lake is a 2-acre spring-fed lake and is open year-round. The lake is stocked with trout multiple times throughout the year, and it supports other species of fish including sunfish, bass, catfish, and carp.
Every winter, migrating birds such as buffleheads, scaups, redheaded ducks, and occasional tundra swans make their appearance.
Nearby, Jim Barnett Park has playgrounds, a fitness trail, walking-bicycling paths, picnic tables, dog park, disc golf, mini-golf ,and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

From I-81, take Exit 313 and follow Route 50 west toward Winchester. Turn right (north) onto Pleasant Valley Road in 0.2 miles and watch for the Jim Barnett Park entrance on your right. Enter the park here. Wilkins Lake will be on your right.
