Shenandoah Valley and its surrounding mountains hold a deep and complex history of people and nature. The Discovery Museum provides information and insight to this history, especially through the exhibits, which are hands-on, interactive, and experience-based.
This is a popular destination for families, teachers, and young children. Visitors can enjoy exhibits that challenge their knowledge and inspire learning. These include the ranger station, climbing wall, Native American longhouse, and the prehistoric past. Upper floors feature Virginia’s natural regions, a rooftop garden, and the Potomac River watershed. Come up and get wet!
Hours of Operation: Open Tuesday-Sunday, year-round. Admission charged.
