Delight in the rich, dynamic melodies of Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Suite, which brings to life the beloved operetta in a blend of classical and popular styles. Be among the first to witness a groundbreaking new wind ensemble setting of Jessie Montgomery’s Coincident Dances, which captures the frenetic energy and multicultural aural palette of a short walk through a New York City neighborhood. Known for her innovative compositions that weave together diverse musical traditions, Montgomery’s work is a fusion of several different sound-worlds: English consort, samba, mbira dance music from Ghana, swing and techno.
