World of the Piano
Illia Ovcharenko is a highly acclaimed Ukrainian pianist, recognized for his exceptional talent and profound musicality. Born in 2001, Ovcharenko has rapidly gained international recognition through his captivating performances and numerous competition successes. He was the winner of the lauded 2022 Honens International Piano Competition in Canada and was praised by International Piano as “technically flawless and impeccably musical.”
Ovcharenko’s repertoire spans a wide range of classical works, showcasing his versatility and depth as a musician. He has performed in major concert halls across Europe and North America, receiving praise for his technical precision and expressive interpretations. In addition to his solo career, he has collaborated with renowned orchestras and conductors, further establishing his reputation in the classical music world.
Ovcharenko continues to refine his craft under the guidance of esteemed mentors, including Arie Vardi. His dedication to music, combined with his innate talent, promises a bright future and a significant impact on the global classical music scene.

Piano Masterclass
Monday, February 17 at 10AM • Armstrong Concert Hall
Observe the guest artists as they work with Shenandoah Conservatory piano students. Masterclasses are typically held on the Monday following each World of the Piano performance from 10AM to noon in Armstrong Concert Hall. Limited seating is open to the public for quiet observation. Please arrive by 9:45AM.
