Set in an intimate black box studio and directed by our new Director of Opera Ella Marchment, Opera Up Close features small ensembles, but big ideas. Join us for an unforgettably spooky evening of operatic mischief as the Queen of the Vampires attempts to control the chaos that unravels around her during her annual Hallows Eve party. Highlights include excerpts from the darker side of opera, including the witches chorus from Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, as well as newer works by the Queen’s composer Judith Weir and new star composer Siobhán Cleary. This will surely be a night to remember!
