What Advice Would You Give To Undergrad/ Grad Students?
Nursing is vast. You can do so many things. You must continue to learn and deepen your knowledge because you never know where you will be living and what new and unique opportunities will come your way. Be open to all possibilities for growth in the nursing profession and give back to your clients with passion. They are counting on you.
What Is Your Best Memory At SU?
This is not my best memory, but it was memorable for sure. The first morning I was to start my lecture, the last student walked into the classroom and proceeded to faint and not one student responded. At that point I knew that I had much to teach to help them learn to have peripheral vision and to care for others. I knew I could make a difference in this new position I was undertaking.
What Do You Like To Do In Your Free Time?
I enjoy being outside as much as possible in both sun and snow. I also find that baking and cooking for my family or for big occasions are relaxing. Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years.
Do you have any pets?
I only have a dog now but I grew up with a variety of animals – chickens, ducks, rabbits, dogs and cats.
What Is Your Favorite Food?
Fruits and vegetables are high on my list of favorites but there is no food I do not like.
What Is Your Favorite Place You’ve Lived Or Visited? Why?
My favorite place to live was California. It was a time in my life where you worked to “live”, not live to “work.” We worked hard and then we enjoyed all the outdoor activities in California – the mountains, the water, the vineyards and the land. There was hiking, cross country and downhill skiing, sailing, windsurfing and the beach. We were exploring when we weren’t at work.
Is there anything about yourself that others may not know, that you think would interest someone?
I have two different colored eyes – one brown and one green.
