Saturday, October 12, 2024 is High School Band Day!
High School Bands and Individual High School Students are invited to join the Shenandoah University Marching Band and perform in Shentel Stadium during a Hornet Football Game!
- There is NO fee to participate in this event
- Students and Directors will receive a free t-shirt and free lunch on the day of the event.
- Marching is NOT required of high school students; concert bands are welcome to join us!
- Music does NOT need to be memorized for the performance; students can use their own lyres on the field.
- Music will be provided after registration.
- Color Guard will learn the routine on the day of the event.

Each student will need to register individually through our registration portal. Groups will need to have students register individually as well. Medical waivers and photo/video release forms will be shared directly with students and parents through the information provided in the registration form. Due to field capacity registration is limited. All bands who register will be invited to participate on a first come, first served basis.

- Parents and chaperones will be required to purchase tickets to the game.
- Game tickets and parking will become available for purchase on the Monday prior to the game on the Athletics website.
- A general admission ticket is $10
- Parking spots may be purchased for $10 per vehicle.
- Bus parking will be available upon request for no additional cost.
Band Day participants should be dropped off at the Wilkins Athletics and Events Center Main Entrance. Check-in will take place in the lobby.
During the game, participants will sit in a reserved section of the stands. Members of the SU Band Staff will be stationed in this area to assist during the game.
Participants should wear closed-toe tennis shoes, blue jeans, and the band day t-shirt (provided at check-in). Please bring layers based on the weather forecast for the day of the event.
Students will have a secure location to keep their belongings during the event. Please make sure items are labeled with first, last, and high school name in case anything gets left behind.
