Recognizing Native American Perspectives–Thanksgiving and the National Day of Mourning

November 13 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

What do we know about the “First Thanksgiving”? How, if at all, are our perspectives on Thanksgiving shaped by the experiences of Native American people, past and living? In this workshop about Thanksgiving and the National Day of Mourning, participants will analyze a primary source to learn about a Native American’s perspective on the arrival of the Pilgrims and discuss differing viewpoints about the significance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
