We landed in London 10:30 A.M (+5 hour time difference) European time, and then travelled to Maidenhead, U.K with Madsen’s friend from camp (Libby you are the bees knees, thank you and your family for the hospitality), which is 20 minutes away from Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle shopping district is POPPING! You can physically see the history of the city as you walk through it. It has rained quite often since being here, but it is the misty rain. It is like Mother Nature is sneezing on you. Tea time is not a designated time during the day, but they do drink quite a lot of tea here: with milk. Yes milk. And it is BANGING! (I had almond milk of course)
We travelled to Winchester the next day where we checked into our flats (not dorms) and met some of the incoming freshers (not freshmen). The University of Winchester is BEAAAAAUTIFUL. The people who run Winchester, Va (sister city of Winchester, U.K) need to take a flight out here and learn a thing or two from the OG’s. I did not see many people of African decent since i have been here (which put me on edge a little as a African-American) but I forgot school does not start until next Monday. Did I mention that it rains quite often here? Classes do not start for another week, so during this buffer period us freshers will participating in various activities (quite a few involving drinking) to become a little more acquainted with each other, and the university.
Today we will be venturing out into Winchester city to get familiar with the areas surrounding the campus, and get some exercise since the area we are at is quite hilly and wet. Did I mention rain already?
