Wow. Where to begin. We landed at noon yesterday and it’s 9pm and it’s the first down time we’ve had. I don’t think I can update you on everything we’ve done because I’d run out of room and I’ll probably forget something. Here goes anyway,
On day one we successfully covered the entirety of Old San Juan on foot. We saw plazas galore and a park full of people flying kites. Seriously, people flying freaking kites!
We navigated the park down to a cemetery on the ocean and marvelled at the 500+ year old sculptures.
We also landed at this amazing hostel. I’m not kidding, it’s nicer than a lot of hotels I’ve stayed in in the States.
And the view. Wow. Nothing like waking up and seeing the ocean.
After hours of wandering we ended up at a salsa bar for dancing and live music. It was epic. We finally hit the sack around midnight exhausted and invigorated.
And the food!!!! Mofongo is my new favorite.
Everywhere we have gone I have tried something different, but let me tell you, it’s all about the mofongo. We have been eating our way across the city so stay tuned for a detailed post completely dedicated to food.
I’m signing off for now. Stay tuned for more updates. If tomorrow is anything like today we will be going until we can’t walk any more. I can’t wait
