The Harlem Globetrotters, as part of their 2024 World Tour presented by Jersey Mike’s Subs, are bringing their world-famous basketball act back to Winchester.
The Globetrotters, who entertained a capacity crowd at Shenandoah University’s James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics and Events Center last spring, will return to SU for the second year in a row to take on the Washington Generals at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 7. The Globetrotters also performed at Shenandoah in 2018 and 2021.
Tickets start at $25 and are available for purchase at eventbrite.com. Approximately 1,800 tickets are being sold, and all tickets will be reserved seating. The Globetrotters’ three previous appearances in Winchester sold out, and the 2024 edition is expected to be no different.
Doors to the Wilkins Athletics and Events Center will open at 6 p.m. Attendees have the opportunity to purchase a Magic Pass, which grants access to a special pregame experience during which attendees can learn tricks, shoot hoops, get autographs and take photos with the Globetrotters. Doors for Magic Pass ticket holders open at 5 p.m., and the 30-minute pregame event begins at 5:30 p.m. Magic Pass tickets are limited, and all Magic Pass participants must also purchase an event ticket to enter the venue.
The event is organized by Russ Potts Productions, Inc. (RPPI) and sponsored by United Bank. Zach Franz, president of RPPI, announced the Globetrotters’ upcoming return to Winchester during halftime of the Shenandoah men’s basketball game against Southern Virginia University on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
RPPI is thrilled to bring the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters, presented by United Bank, back to Winchester to provide fun, family-friendly entertainment for our community. The previous three events at Shenandoah University featured sellout crowds, so we encourage fans to get their tickets early to ensure they get a seat. Tickets make a great gift for the holidays! We look forward to working with our tremendous partners at Shenandoah University and our charitable partner, Bright Futures-Frederick/Winchester.”

Similar to last season, a food drive will take place during the Globetrotters’ game to benefit Bright Futures-Frederick/Winchester, a nonprofit organization that helps address the needs of local K-12 students. More information on the Bright Futures food drive will be available at a later date.
The Globetrotters perform more than 400 live events worldwide each year. Founded in 1926, the Globetrotters have entertained more than 148 million fans in 123 countries and territories. Off the court, they’ve maintained a longstanding legacy of involvement in local communities as “Ambassadors of Goodwill.”
