The Theatre Division’s digital project of “Heathers: The Musical” began filming on location earlier this month. On Saturday, Oct. 3, the cast and crew were on location for 11 hours, filming a large, complex party scene/musical number, following COVID-19 guidelines. The project had more than 20 cast members and at least 10 crew members. Four faculty and staff were also on location, including Assistant Dean for Student Learning, Director of Acting and Associate Professor of Theatre Carolyn Coulson, Ph.D. (director); Assistant Professor of Dance and Coordinator of Musical Theatre Dance Shylo Martinez, M.F.A., (choreographer); Assistant Professor of Theatre – Lighting Design Andrew Carson, M.F.A., (lighting designer); and Assistant Technical Director and Scene Shop Supervisor Michael “Jonz” Jones (production designer).
“Considering how new this is to everyone, we are very happy to report that filming went smoothly, everyone stayed in good spirits, and we finished an hour early,” said Dr. Coulson.
Filming will continue for the next month around campus and Winchester.
