Eight Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business students were honored guests at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Headquarters in Washington, D.C., on April 21. The students, who were accompanied by the business school Dean Miles Davis, Ph.D., were invited to the IMF as guests of Dr. Markus Rodlauer, deputy director of the IMF, who spoke at the Byrd Business School in the fall of 2015.
Rodlauer provided the students with an overview of the IMF and its mission and took questions from the students on topics ranging from “Why are there protests against the IMF,” to “How is the IMF funded?”
After speaking with the students for over 1 ½ hours, Rodlauer escorted the students to the IMF cafeteria where they enjoyed a good lunch and beautiful view of downtown Washington, D.C.
The Byrd School of Business is grateful to Rodlauer and the IMF for hosting its students.
