My favorite spot around SU: My favorite spots at SU are the Alson H. Smith, Jr. Library and Sarah’s Glen. My favorite spot in the Winchester area is downtown.
What makes SU special to me: Initially, I came to SU as a transfer student from Laurel Ridge Community College. My transition to SU was flawless and easy. This allowed me to blend in and become part of the community at SU without losing my unique identity and values as an individual. In many ways, SU fosters an environment where everyone can thrive and encourages both individual success as well as the growth of the community. Now that I am a member of the university’s staff, I can continue to contribute to the success of the university and give back to the community that embraced me as a student.
My advice: SU provides opportunities for students to succeed. My advice is to take time to explore campus, talk to current students about their experiences, and engage with the different extracurricular activities and clubs. Also, take the time to explore what Winchester has to offer.
Fun fact: I speak multiple languages – Arabic and French. I like to travel, watch movies and tv shows, listen to music, and explore local coffee shops.
