The Online Master Of Science In Performing Arts Leadership & Management curriculum is designed to provide future performing arts executive and artistic leaders with skills in arts leadership, marketing, fundraising, financial management, entrepreneurship and governance, and program/project planning that prepares students to find a meaningful professional career in the field of performing arts management, artistic leadership and arts entrepreneurship.

Admission Requirements

2. Application Requirements: Rolling – Accept applications until program’s start in Summer (May) or Fall (August).
Applicant must hold a baccalaureate degree in the performing arts (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applicants with baccalaureate degrees in disciplines other than the performing arts may be considered on an individual basis if they have had extensive noncurricular experiences in the arts.
- Unofficial transcripts from all baccalaureate and master’s degree studies, documenting successful (or pending successful) degree completions and a minimum bachelor’s GPA of 2.5. (All post-secondary institutions where a degree or relevant credit has been earned.)
- Applicants can choose to submit unofficial transcripts for initial review. If admitted, the applicant must submit an official transcript for each unofficial transcript upload. See our full policy for more details.
- Upload one copy of the unofficial transcript from each institution attended.
- Admitted applicants must provide official transcripts from each institution from which they previously supplied unofficial transcripts.
- Transcripts from non-U.S. institutions must also be submitted for a course-by-course academic credential evaluation to obtain U.S. equivalency information regarding courses, grades and GPA.
- A personal essay (500-word minimum) that addresses the applicant’s intent for joining the program and explains the applicant’s professional goals.
- A sample of applicant’s academic or professional writing of no less than 500 words. Writing samples must be in a document format and attributable to the applicant.
- Academic writing sample example: a research paper with citations and a bibliography, a book review, or an annotated bibliography.
- Professional writing sample example: a published article, business plan, marketing plan, a written procedure, program notes.

Interview Requirements
- A virtual interview with the program director will be scheduled after all other application materials are submitted. No audition required.
- Shenandoah Conservatory undergraduates who have completed the accelerated PALM program may apply with no application fee required.
