My recruiting territories: Certain PA counties, VA counties, NJ, NY
Hometown: All over! I’ve bounced around a lot, but I currently call Winchester, Virginia home.
My favorite spots around SU: The orchards, especially Marker Miller Orchards just on the edge of town! Winchester is known for its apples, and we have surprisingly great peaches and plums in the summer months as well. You can pick your own produce or just grab something from their farmers market. If you go, don’t forget to try the pie!
What makes SU special to me: I really appreciate the community atmosphere that Shenandoah University provides. Whether faculty, staff, or students, everyone is genuinely supportive here. Also, the university is situated in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, which is one of the most gorgeous scenic areas in the country.
My advice: Don’t sweat it if you haven’t completely figured out what you want to do with your life yet. And if you do think you have it all figured out, still keep an open mind! I was originally accepted into a very competitive Fine Arts program which had a rigorous application process. After getting in, I thought that was the end of my decision-making regarding school, but after just two semesters, I switched majors and ended up earning degrees in subjects that I had never even thought about prior to attending college. Nothing has to be set in stone unless you want it to be.
My hobbies: I have more hobbies than anyone I know. I collect new skills like a kid collects Pokémon cards. I study languages, weave carpets, design and build my own furniture, fabricate buildings, raise chickens, keep bees, grow vegetables in my giant garden, cook delicious food, and play table top role-playing games with my friends.
