Technology: The school is one of the most technologically-advanced schools of pharmacy in the United States. It is one of the few pharmacy programs to require all students to have and utilize laptop computer technology. A significant investment has been made in computer databases which are available and accessible to students 24 hours a day from both their classrooms and homes.

Educational Affiliations: The Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy, working closely with the Winchester Medical Center and nationwide pharmacy operations, provides the required experiential education and clinical training sites for the PharmD. curriculum. A majority of sites are located within five clusters: Winchester, VA; Martinsburg, WV; Roanoke, VA; Charlottesville, VA; northern Virginia.

Research: A variety of research opportunities are available for students during their second and third years including basic and applied sciences. Research laboratories, housed within the Health Professions Building, are currently being used primarily for basic pharmaceutics, pharmacogenetic, pharmacogenomic, and medicinal plant research.
