Undergraduate Biology majors develop fundamental and in-depth knowledge within the disciplines of the biological sciences. Students complete a sequence of required core of courses that cover a broad body of knowledge. Students participate in comprehensive hands-on laboratory-based activities that promote the development of technical skills used in biological science investigations.

The biology major has been designed to allow students to select elective courses in biology to pursue their specialized interests, including secondary biology education, field biology, the health-related professions including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training and other related fields of study at the graduate level.

Additional courses of 17-24 credits can be selected for students to pursue specialized interests in biology.
