Snow alters campus plans Feb. 5 through 8

All campuses of Shenandoah University are CLOSED.

Shenandoah University closed Friday, Feb. 5, in anticipation of a major storm, which was expected to blanket the Shenandoah Valley and much of the East Coast with significant amounts of snow. By late Friday, it was announced the university would be closed Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 6 and 7, too.

Shenandoah University is also closed on Monday, Feb. 8, it was announced Sunday afternoon. The grounds crew has been working since Friday to keep campus roads and sidewalks open, however some roads in the region are still impassable and most residents are still trying to dig out from under two feet of snow.

Allen Dining Hall is open, maintaining its regular hours of operation. The Brandt Student Center Food Court and Jazzman's Cafe are closed.

The Brandt Student Center also remains open. The SGA-sponsored Super Bowl Party begins at 6 p.m. Feb. 7 in the Ferrari Room. The game room and fitness room are open during normal operating hours. The GCP meeting scheduled for Feb. 7 has been canceled. An additional hour has been added to the pre-departure meeting on Sunday, Feb. 28. 

The Shenandoah Conservatory Symphony Orchestra concert featuring the winners of the 2009-10 Student Soloists Competition scheduled for Feb. 5, then rescheduled for Feb. 8, will be rescheduled again, the date and time to be announced.

The Foosball Tournament scheduled for Feb. 5 in the game room has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12. For more information, contact the BSC Information Desk at (540) 665-4907.

Weekend performances of “Story Theatre”in the Glaize Studio Theatre were canceled.
