Policy for Copying Audio and Video Recordings:

Media Services will make one copy of any audio or video recording for educational purposes. This includes recordings of past SU performances in the Media Center archives. The copy will be provided as a computer file, DVD, or CD. If you would like multiple DVD or CD copies, you must provide blank media (blank CD-R and DVD-R discs) for the additional copies.

To request a copy of your own personal recording (for example, a video recorded with a camcorder borrowed from the Media Center), bring the original recording to the Media Center and fill out a Copying Request slip.

If you are unable to pick up your copy at the Media Center, you may have it delivered to you for free as a digital download. If you would like us to ship you a CD or DVD copy, the library must first receive a check for:

  • $15 for the first recording
  • plus $5 for each additional recording shipped in the same package.

Please include the delivery address on your request and we will contact you to arrange payment.

Policy and procedure for borrowing audio-visual equipment

When submitting an equipment request, the borrower must include a valid SU ID number.

The borrower will receive an auto-response email with the details of the request.

Within two business days, the borrower will receive another email from Media Services staff confirming if and when he/she can pick up the equipment That email will include a due date (and sometimes a due time) for the equipment. If the equipment is not returned by that due date, each item will be subject to a late fee of $5 per day. If no specific due date is included in the email, the equipment will be due back four days after the date it was checked out (for example, an item checked out April 24 is due April 28).

When picking up equipment from the Media Center (on the third floor of the Alson H. Smith, Jr. Library), the borrower must present the SU ID card containing the ID number from his/her online request.

The borrower assumes financial responsibility for any damage (other than normal wear and tear) or loss of equipment.

Videoconferencing

Media Services will rent a videoconferencing room to a non-SU-affiliated individual or group. Please email Media Services for more information.
